About Gillis Sales

Managed Sales Solutions

Working Together

  • What is expected from our General Manager?

Our most successful partnerships are collaborative. While we manage the day-to-day sales effort, we rely on the General Manager for operational insight, strategic alignment, and ongoing communication to ensure an exceptional guest experience and successful execution.

  • How does Gillis Sales learn our hotel and market?

Every engagement begins with a structured discovery process. We take time to understand your hotel, your market, your historical business, your competitors, and your growth opportunities before developing a sales strategy.

  • How quickly can Gillis Sales begin selling?

Every new partnership begins with a structured two-week onboarding process designed to set your hotel up for long-term success. During this time, we immerse ourselves in your hotel, market, historical business, systems, and sales strategy so we can represent your property with confidence.

We intentionally onboard a select number of new hotels each month to ensure every client receives the highest level of quality, attention, and execution. Once onboarding is complete, our team begins executing the sales strategy and building qualified opportunities.

  • How long does it take to generate revenue?

Sales is a marathon, not a race.

While we always look for quick wins and opportunities that can generate business in the current quarter, our focus is also on building a healthy sales pipeline that supports revenue growth over the long-term.

Some market segments naturally have shorter sales cycles, while others require months of relationship building before business is secured. Our approach balances immediate opportunities with strategic prospecting, helping hotels achieve results today while building a stronger runway for future revenue.

  • How often will we communicate?

Communication and transparency are central to every partnership.

You’ll receive regular updates, strategic reviews, and ongoing collaboration with your dedicated sales team. Every client also has access to our client portal, where you can view live sales activity, pipeline updates, opportunities, and progress in real time.

We believe you should always have visibility into what’s happening, what’s being worked on, and where new business opportunities are developing.

Our People

Sales Approach

  • What types of business can you help us grow?

Depending on your hotel’s objectives, we can help grow corporate negotiated business, local corporate accounts, group business, extended-stay demand, project business, sports, government, association, and other targeted market segments.

  • Do you use AI in your sales process?

Yes. Every managed sales engagement is supported by GillisOne, our proprietary sales intelligence and AI platform designed specifically for hotel sales.

GillisOne helps our sales professionals identify qualified opportunities faster, significantly reduce research time, automate many of the administrative tasks that traditionally consume a salesperson’s day, and spend more time where it matters most: building relationships and generating revenue.

Rather than replacing the human element of sales, GillisOne enhances it. By combining experienced sales professionals with proprietary technology, we provide more strategic sales support, uncover more opportunities, and help our clients compete more effectively.

  • How do you manage sales activity and reporting?

Gillis Sales operates within Salesforce Enterprise, our proprietary CRM and sales management platform, giving our team the structure, visibility, and discipline needed to execute consistently across every client.

Clients have access to a secure reporting portal where they can view live sales activity, pipeline updates, opportunities, and performance metrics in real time, providing complete transparency into the work we’re doing on their behalf.

By leveraging our proven sales infrastructure, hotels benefit from enterprise-level reporting, standardized processes, and actionable insights without the cost and complexity of implementing and managing their own sales platform.

  • How do you measure success?

We take your investment seriously. Every Regional Director of Sales is assigned revenue goals for each of the hotels they support, ensuring they remain focused on the opportunities that will have the greatest impact.

While we closely monitor leading indicators such as pipeline development, qualified opportunities, and sales activity, we believe the ultimate measure of success is actual revenue delivered to your hotel.

Our team is incentivized to drive measurable revenue results, creating accountability and alignment with your hotel’s success.

Investment

  • How do you charge for your services?

One of the biggest advantages of partnering with Gillis Sales is the value of our managed sales model.

Building an in-house sales organization requires significant investment in recruiting, salaries, benefits, leadership, training, technology, sales tools, AI, and ongoing coaching. With Gillis Sales, you gain access to an experienced sales organization, proven systems, executive leadership, and GillisOne, our proprietary sales intelligence platform, for a fraction of the cost of building and maintaining that infrastructure yourself.

Every hotel has different goals and support requirements. Contact us to discuss your objectives, and we’ll recommend the solution that’s right for your hotel and provide a customized quote.

  • Is there a long-term contract?

Our engagement models vary depending on the services provided. We’ll discuss the most appropriate structure based on your hotel’s needs and objectives.

  • How do I know if Gillis Sales is the right fit?

The best way to find out is through a conversation. We’ll learn about your hotel, your current sales structure, your challenges, and your goals, then recommend whether we’re the right partner and, if so, which solution will create the greatest impact.

Still have questions?

Every hotel is different. Your market, business mix, current sales structure, and growth goals all influence the right approach.

If you don’t see your question here, we’d be happy to talk through your specific situation and help you determine whether Gillis Sales is the right fit.

Let’s start the conversation.

Shared Client Experiences

“Gillis is one of our most valued and trusted advisors and partners.”

“We had the good fortune of engaging Gillis after years of managing our sales effort in-house. They came highly recommended through brand leadership and seasoned sales professionals, and they haven’t disappointed. Despite only a few months into our relationship, they have had an immediate impact on our hotels and key account relationships. The Gillis team has already established themselves as one of our most valued and trusted advisors and partners. They have always displayed the professionalism, passion and accountability demanded by their profession.”

– Perry Batke, CHA, General Manager, Denham Hospitality Organization

“The math is simple: Gillis equals heads-in-beds!”

“The sales pros at Gillis have been instrumental in building occupancy at Motel 6 and Studio 6 hotels in Canada over the past several years. Working collaboratively with owners and managers, Gillis takes the time required to find and convert prospects to guests. Gillis provides a best-in-class solution for hotels that don’t have a dedicated, well-trained sales team.”

– Irwin M. Prince, President & COO, Realstar Hospitality

“Gillis has become our most effective resource.”

"As a management company with 4 smaller hotels in busy transient markets, we have struggled to keep our sales and marketing costs relative to the size of our hotel. The cost and time invested in attracting, training, and retaining good salespeople with the current job climate can be not only daunting but frustrating with turnover. With varying demand in the market, a sales manager needs to recognize when to take the business, and when to say no to it. The right rate, at the right time!

We have solved all these problems through turning this demanding role in 3 of our hotels over to Gillis Sales.

Gillis is a trusted, credible partner who has supplied me with experienced professionals who know the fastest route to the business I need. This has become our most effective resource, and I 100% recommend the Gillis solution to my colleagues."

– Patti Barker, Vice President of Hospitality, Metropolitan Hospitality Management

“Giving us confidence no matter what comes up.”

“We have a diverse portfolio of hotels, both full-service and limited-service.  Having a company that can expertly do both is important. Gillis serves as a stand-alone effort for some hotels and, in others, is integrated with our on-site sales team to maximize revenue and efforts.  This helps in responsiveness when opportunities present themselves and fosters a hands-on tailored effort for each location.

Their above-property team is also there for the more complex, non-routine issues, giving us confidence no matter what comes up. That kind of expertise and attentiveness has made all the difference. Another benefit is that the RDOS teams have hotel experience and understand the day-to-day nuances that our team faces and can adapt. This helps avoid delays or the sacrifice of customer experience as situations arise.”

– Dhaval Brahmbhatt, Principal Owner, Prominence Hospitality Group
